On July 29, 1938, the young George and Charlotte Gary Johnson joyfully welcomed their sixth child, daughter Annie Pauline Greer in Vaiden, Mississippi.
On November 17, 1956, Annie married William Greer, Sr. From this union, God blessed them with four children. Annie left Mississippi in 1958. She worked as a cook for over 30 years for various companies in the Food Industry. Annie spent the last five years of her career at T.A. Lake Station Truck Services in Indiana prior to retiring.
Annie accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful, devoted Christian. She loved the Lord and loved serving and sharing her love of the Lord with others. She worshiped at New Kingdom Harvest Ministries currently under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Nash of Gary, Indiana.
Annie had a heart of gold. She loved to interact with people and to make others happy. She always had a kind word to share. She was always the one to lift your spirits. She shared her love with people and treated everyone she came in contact, with warmth and affection. She loved to cook and whenever you visited her home she filled your heart with love and your stomach with her delicious food. She loved gardening, planting flowers and making sure her yard was always pleasing to the eye. She loved her family and she had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
While Annie’s death bleeds our hearts and creates a deep void, we all must accept the will of God.
Annie was preceded in death by husband William Greer Sr., her daughter Jacqueline Greer, her parents, George and Charlotte Gary Johnson; her siblings, Johnny Leroy Johnson, Dorothy Tito Johnson Jenkins, Billy Harris Johnson; and other loved ones.
