Robert McNeal, Jr.

Robert McNeal, Jr. was the first of twelve children born to the late Robert McNeal, Sr. and the late Jimmie Lee McNeal on December 27, 1948. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Lee Milton McNeal and Earl McNeal.

Robert graduated from Marshall High School in North Carrollton, MS in1970.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Theresa Harris on December 26,1970. From this union, four children were born.  Theresa preceded him in death on September 5, 2017. Robert enjoyed talking to people and joking with them as well. He always made sure his family and friends had plenty of food to eat whenever they came to visit him. There was never a dull moment because he always made you laugh.  He also went out of his way to help you, however he could.  One of his favorite quotes was, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste!"

Robert worked for Modine, formerly known as Heatcraft for 48 years.  He had many job titles during his tenure, with the latest being a fork lift driver.  He also loved his hobby of working on kitchen appliances, with washing machines being his favorite. He was known around Duck Hill as the "The Duck Hill Repair Man".

Robert was a member of Wilkins Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee.  He was also a member of the Duck Hill Male Club where he served as business manager.

Robert leaves to cherish his fond memories three sons: Rodney (Jennifer) McNeal of Winona, MS; Xavian (Tammara) McNeal of Cordova, TN; Marlin (Ametra) McNeal of Grenada, MS; and one daughter, Stephanie McNeal of Duck Hill, MS; Three brothers: John  (Eldora) McNeal and Walter (Sally) McNeal of Duck Hill, MS; and G.W. McNeal of Gary, IN; Six Sisters: Fannie Mae (William) Taylor of Duck Hill, MS; Lettie (Eddie) Young of Kilmichael, MS; Delois (James) McInnis of Clinton, MS; Linda (Wilson) Campbell of Winona, MS; Renice McNeal of New Albany, MS, and Christine (Greg) Small of Winona, MS; Five grandchildren: LaDarion Purnell and Markiya McNeal of Grenada, MS; Tylar Dean, Mason McNeal and Madison McNeal of Cordova, TN. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Please note:  The remains of Mr. Robert McNeal, Jr. will lie in repose on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:55 a.m. @ Roberts & Sons Mortuary in Winona, MS. and will not be viewed after the service.
