Obituary
Hardie Meeks, Sr. was born on July 12, 1954 to the late Charles F. Meeks and the late Johnnie Redditt Meeks. He graduated from J.Z. George High School in 1974. He then went to Mississippi Valley State University. He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church in North Carrollton, MS. Hardie Sr. was a loving husband, father, and friend. He worked at Baldwin Piano (Greenwood, MS) and Winona Manor Nursing Home (Winona, MS) until he retired after the outbreak of the global pandemic Covid-19. After retirement, he spent most of his time sitting in his recliner watching the western shows and various news outlets. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his fur baby, “Lucky”.
To cherish his memories, he leaves the love of his life, Earnestine Meeks. Their union created the lives of Travey (Debra) Romel Meeks of Greenwood, MS, Hardie (Katrenia) Meeks, Jr. of Oxford, MS, Jennifer Nicole Meeks of North Carrollton, MS, and Derrick (Vanessa) Bernard Meeks of Southaven, MS, and his grandson Hardarrius Tramel Meeks of N. Carrollton, MS that he raised and loved as his own son. He leaves 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves his two brothers Frank James Meeks of Memphis, TN and Johnny Meeks of St. Louis, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
