JESSIE LEE McCASKILL

     Jessie Lee McCaskill was born January 18th, 1947 to the late Sammie McCaskill, Sr. and Mary Ree McCaskill in the state of Mississippi.

     Jessie professed his faith and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He enjoyed singing with his family choir in his distinguished baritone voice.

     Jessie graduated from Montgomery County Vocational High School. Jessie moved to Chicago where he worked for Sears,  Roebuck and CO. and later worked in the steel mill industry.   During his time in Chicago Jessie met and married Dorothy Buirts-McCaskill and to that union they had a daughter, Valerie Lee McCaskill. After returning home to Mississippi, Jessie worked in the lumber industry working for Hankins Lumber Company, and was gifted with his hands; some say he could build a home from the ground. Through many phases of his life many would agree to know Jessie is to love him. Jessie was big on   family and happy to reunite with his daughter later in life and they communicated often, even his last day of life.

     On Thursday, March 24th, 2022, Jessie Lee McCaskill slept into eternity at home in Carrollton, MS.

     Jessie leave to cherish his memory: his daughter , Valerie McCaskill-Clay (Jamieson Clay), grandson, Darius McCaskill, great-granddaughters, Xyaria McCaskill, Meghan McCaskill in South Holland, IL; three brothers, Sammie (Gladys) McCaskill, Kilmichael, MS, Robert McCaskill, Winona, MS and Luther (Janice) McCaskill, Memphis, TN; sisters Mary (Rochester) Young, Kilmichael, MS; Sandra McCaskill and Marilyn (Lee) Forrest, Winona, MS, Doris Ward of Kernserville, NC, Katherine (Maverick) Hughes of Kilmichael, MS, Zoretta (Michael) Holloway of Westfield, IN, and Pricilla R. Ward of Madison  County, MS.

     Jessie was preceded in death by: grandson: Christopher McCaskill, father: Sammie McCaskill Sr., mother: Mary Ree McCaskill, two brothers: Fletcher McCaskill and Curtis McCaskill, two sisters: Teresa McCaskill and Patricia McCaskill-Peeples He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many cousins and friends to cherish his memories.
